With balloons and an oversized check in hand, L’Anse Creuse Foundation members surprised teachers in their classrooms Dec. 3 with 21 grant awards. The annual grant program encourages teachers to apply for funds to enhance their curriculum through guest speakers, assemblies or special projects not financed through the school budget. Some of the winners were Bats for Earth!, Trust and Team Building, curent Electricity: Make you own circuit; Modern Figure Sculpture and more.
Grants are awarded based on creativity, student-centered ideas and experiential learning opportunities that enrich and extend the L’Anse Creuse Public Schools’ curriculum.
The L’Anse Creuse Foundation, founded in 1989, is an independent, non-profit organization that provides funds to L’Anse Creuse Public Schools’ students for enrichment programs and other projects aimed at enhancing their educational opportunities.
